More Boring Pregnancy Stuff
My wife is off to Yoga for Expecting Mothers, which doubles as an opportunity for a weekly meeting with one of her best friends and in turn gives me some time to blog.
First, let me thank all of you again for your congratulations. They are all very much appreciated, especially after the lukewarm reception that our supposedly good tidings elicited from the in-laws. Hers was a rather cool "I suspected as much" while he limited himself to a rather gruff "Oh, bloody shit". And even knowing that she is struggling with getting older (she once told us in all earnest that she hates the thought of one day waking up in bed with a man who was a grandpa), and he can be an incredibly thoughtless, inconsiderate asshole especially to his daughter while at the same time being helpfulness itself to everyone else, that was a little underwhelming.
Anyway, she was at her ob/gyn today, and the ultrasound pictures are now more than undefined shapes fresh from one of those Rohrschach personality tests. But no worries, you'll have at least two more weaks until I scare everyone off with scanned images of the ultrasound pictures. Half of the reason for this is that I can't get the bloody USB scanner to work on my 98lite system while it works flawlessly plugged into the in-laws' XP box.
The other half is that on Wednesday noon, we'll board an airplane to Almeria, Andalusia, Spain. We'll spend what is likely to be our last vacation outside Germany for a few years on a roundtrip through the beauty and goodness that is the south of Spain. Besides the wonder that is the Alhambra of Grenada, we're hoping to see much beautiful landscape, historical sites, and old, beautiful cities as well as eat lots of delicious Spanish food. I'm also looking forward to a whole week without bad news about Sharon's and Bush's new idiocies, or indeed any bad news, hopefully.
Thank Deity, the second trimester upswing has finally started kicking in and my wife has stopped being constantly nauseous. And while she still doesn't let me more than brush or very lightly nibble her gorgeous breasts, we had some nice and much anticipated sex both Saturday and Sunday morning, so I'm a rather more well-adjusted expecting dad right now ;-). Besides the flavor changes Johnny Huh? warned about - she does indeed taste a bit stronger now which doesn't bother me but means that she now more readily tastes herself when I kiss her after having gone south, something she doesn't seem to relish - we noticed one other change I haven't seen mentioned anywhere: the shape of her vagina has changed in a way that makes it impossible to thrust deeply and strongly without hurting her, and thus makes stimulating her g-spot during penetration more or less impossible.
Of course, this factoid wasn't all that crucial this weekend as the three months of abstinence meant I came almost immediately after entering her, and it was also offset by the added sensitivity of her clit, which means she comes rather more easily from oral stimulation alone, a fact which both my wife and my neck and jaw muscles are bound to appreciate...
So, see you in 10 days or so when I'll finally do another house pic post, and don't wreck the place while I'm away!

Easter Tidings
I need sex. Right. Now. Lots of it. For the rest of today, all through the night, with a short interruption tomorrow morning to call in sick at work, and then continuing for one more day. At least. Anyone up for some hot meaningless sex? As long as you're not a manly man/hairy bear, I'm not all that particular about your gender, either... ;-)
Yes, I'm as desperately, rabidly horny as I have never ever been before in my life. I'm back to masturbating at least twice a day, which I haven't done with such frequency since I discovered masturbation roughly 18 years ago. Heck, yesterday I put an acupuncture needle through my right nipple while jacking off, and the added stimulation was barely able to take off the edge. This sucks big veiny cock. (Or not, as the case may be.) But that's not what I wanted to talk about although it came pouring out as soon as I touched fingers to keyboard. What I do want to talk about is the reason why.
First, once again congratulations to Melanie for deciphering the garbage from early march. Second, kudos to Frances and her quick intuition. Yes, Frances, you guessed right: we are, in fact, expecting.
The last few months have been quite the rollercoaster. My wife had the oddest symptoms (heat, nausea, wildly varying blood pressure, etc.) as soon as she got off the pill (turns out the pill she had been taking had a relatively high hormone dose, and she had her own small climacterium to go through as her body adjusted back to her normal hormone levels). And it's been downhill ever since.
She could sleep all day. Unless she's sick, of course. You heard of morning sickness? Well, we'd be unspeakably happy if it were only in the morning: she's suffering through varying levels of sickness throughout the day.
To add insult to injury, she's looking sexier than ever. The hips are just an idea wider, there's just a hint of a sexy female tummy forming, and the boobs!
Don't get me started about those gigantic boobs! Well, OK, they are not gigantic, except on her diminutive frame, and in comparison with the barely A-cup she had before, her now firmly B twins look absolutely delicious. And I'm not allowed to touch, kiss, lick, fondle, or let alone squeeze them! Because, with such an increase in size they feel swollen and have become too sensitive to do anything useful with except for looking at them adoringly. Damn.
But you know what? I wouldn't want to miss a day of this.
Still, I'd really like to have sex again sometime soon.

A Bag of Random Mumblings
I notice that not being able to blog about That Which Must Not Be Blogged About is severely cramping my style, as it ties into a rather large number of things in our everyday life. Like, say, the fact that last night I had an incredibly vivid, hotly erotic, realistic, clear, and surprisingly non-wet dream about cheating on my wife with the only woman I've met in real life who has ever tempted me in that way. To be sure, I find a great many women beautiful or erotically attractive, but she was the only one whose mere sight or presence had the power to transform me into a drooling, imbecile attachment to a rock-hard cock. I haven't thought about her for years, but not having had any for a dozen weeks, first due to TWMNBBA, then because I've sprouted a full-blown cold sore (which heal notoriously slow for me unless I can squash them in the earliest stages by applying liberal amounts of Aciclovir), and Rosie Palm just not cutting it right now, has left me in a perpetual state of rabid horniness, and this is probably why my subconscious dug her out again.
The job, by the way, sucks every bit as much now as it did some months ago, and if but "slow" were an adequate description of the progress in the Project From Hell aka "Hamster Transportation for the New Millenium", glacier racing would be a regular feature in the sports news.
In totally unrelated suckiness, O has completely withdrawn as far as private matters are concerned, and hence our only way to be of help to T and D is blocked. How much of that withdrawal is due to the hell that the rape of a loved one brought into her life is anyone's guess. But from what my wife tells me of O's vicious rants about her boss, I believe that most of it is due to the antics of said boss, who has now officially been characterized by me, with much agreement from my wife, as an inconsiderate, thoughtless asshole.
So lets get to the non-suckiness part of this post, shall we.
First, being able to bake and subsequently eat bread as beautiful and tasty as this goes a long way to restore my faith in the general goodness of the world.
Second, dusting off my m4d scripting skillz and writing a few shell scripts for a small project this weekend was suprisingly energizing. I've always loved script programming, but finding a job that makes use of this and doesn't involve php/web monkeying or Perl (blech!), or in fact finding any non-sucky IT job, is next to impossible right now, so I haven't done any scripting for years. My loss, for probably missing out on a couple satisfying experiences along the way.
Third, Far Cry rocks. I haven't had that much fun in an FPS game since the original System Shock, or at least since Deus Ex, and that includes some very good FPLSH (First Person Light Saber Hacking ;-) games in the mean time. The AI is quite good, the game is challenging and, up until now, not too frustrating despite there being only console-style savepoints strewn about the levels, the sound is OK, and the level design is rather well done. The graphics are where this game really shines. I am not a graphics whore and consistently prefer gameplay over eye candy, but this game has both in copious amounts. Kudos for the people at Crytek for developing an engine that is absolutely stunning on a high end system while still managing to be playable and far from ugly on my computer, which is seriously underpowered as far as today's gaming rigs go, and then building a game around it that doesn't exclusively rely on the graphics wow factor for entertainment value, like say the original Unreal largely did.
Fourth, Rockbox, the Open Source replacement firmware for the Archos Jukebox line of mp3 players now has voice support (no online speech synthesis, though - that would be asking too much of the puny Archos hardware) for navigating both menu entries and the directory structure holding the mp3 files. This not only makes the Archos Jukeboxen quite possibly the most desirable mp3 player for blind or otherwise vision impaired people. It also means that I can now use my mp3 player in the car while keeping my eyes on the road at all times. Safer roads and more ease of use due to Open Source, who woulda thunk! ;-) And it's one more reason I can't imagine getting an iPod anytime soon.
And this ends today's navel gazing excercise.
